The current Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment, Mahmoud Tarawally is expected to declare his intention to run for the post of flag bearer in the APC in his home district of Port Loko on Saturday 12th August 2017, according to family sources. Mr. Tarawally is one of the outstanding and outspoken members of the APC Youth League.
He has held the posts of Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology and he currently serves as Deputy Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment.
Out of his personal funds, Mr. Tarawally single-handedly constructed the magnificent and only Clock Tower in the heart of Port Loko City.
The Global Times made several attempts yesterday to interview Mr. Tarawally but all efforts proved unsuccessful.
Mr. Tarawally’s declaration on Saturday will coincide with a meeting of all intending APC flag bearer aspirants in Port Loko on that day.
The APC is expected to elect/select their flag bearer aspirant in Makeni on 6th September 2017, according to the Party’s National Secretary General, Ambassador Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh.
