In a conciliatory move on Saturday 7th April, 2018 the leadership of the main opposition APC party formally visited the newly elected President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio.
The purpose of the meeting was to raise concerns over post-election violence in some parts of the country.
The meeting was very constructive and both parties agreed to take immediate and practical steps to bring a swift end to violence in the country.
The delegation was led by the party’s defeated Presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara. Other members of the delegation included Hon. Chernor Bah, Hon. I.B. Kargbo, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray and the newly elected Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.
The delegation promised to work with the new President and support his administration.
The meeting took place at the President’s private residence at Juba.
