Apart from the Central Democratic Party (CDP), representatives from all registered Political Parties in Sierra Leone yesterday converged at the national headquarters of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) to reconcile the warring groups in the Party’s national executive.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of the SLPP, Hon. Musa Tamba Sam, APPA held two separate meetings with the two opposing groups at different areas in the office. The two groups, he said include the one led by the Deputy National Chairman/Leader, Dr. Prince Harding and the other faction headed by the embattled Chairman/Leader, Chief Somano Kapen.
Hon. Tamba Sam said that during the meeting they were privileged to explain to APPA representatives some of the challenging issues that have created divisions within their party.
He said their group led by Dr. Harding informed representatives of the All Political Parties Association that, the Party’s National Chairman/ Leader and Secretary General Chief Kapen and Lawyer Tejan Sie respectively never convene National Officers’ meetings and never consult them in taking important decisions on certain matters affecting the Party.
After that meeting, the APPA representatives went again to meet with the group led by Chief Kapen. The outcome of the closed doors meeting with the Kapen group was not made known to the press.
