The Executive Director of the Kamboi Advocacy and Human Resource Center for Orphans located at the Wahman Abu Road in Kenema has pleaded with other humanitarian organizations and sympathizers to assist the center with food, learning materials and other welfare support for the orphans.
Mrs. Sally Demby says the orphanage is housing about fifty children most of whom are orphans of parents that have died of Ebola illness.
She said the organization was established in November last year with the primary aim to cater for women and children that are vulnerable and marginalized in their respective communities.
But she said afterwards that the organization created a unit and redirects its focus to cater for Ebola orphans due to neglect, marginalization and stigmatization the Ebola orphans are going through in the hands of some wicked community members.
She lamented that if the affected children are not supported now their future will remained bleak and therefore appealed to other child focused agencies, individuals and institutions to come to their aid to make the future of the children brighter for them to become responsible citizens in the country.
She thanked Caritas, WFP, KDA in USA and some individuals that are giving helping hand to run the center.
“We are Ebola orphans, we need support for the development of our future, one of them said.
