The former Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment, Hon. Musa Tarawally is among eight hundred Sierra Leonean Pilgrims performing this year’s Pilgrimage in the Holy Land of Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The eight hundred Sierra Leonean Pilgrims have already arrived safely in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a government spokesman.

Before their departure on Tuesday, President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma urged them to pray for the country and be good Ambassadors whilst in the Holy Land of Mecca.

For the past two years (2014 and 2015), Sierra Leone was banned from sending pilgrims to Mecca as a result of the outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.

Hon. Musa Tarawally told the Global Times that he wishes to perform special prayers for peace and prosperity to continue to reign in Sierra Leone.

Recently, Hon. Musa Tarawally has been in the forefront of promoting Islam in the four corners of Sierra Leone by inviting renowned Islamic scholars from overseas to promote the principles of Islam in Sierra Leone.
