Kailahun Hails Alie Bah’s Appointment

Kailahun maybe the heart land of the main opposition SLPP (Sierra Leone Peoples Party), but the appointment of one of its sons to a ministerial position is being hailed by many as another step in bringing the district closer to Government.
Mohamed Alie Bah, who was appointed last week by President Ernest Koroma as the Minister of State Office of the Vice President carries a reputation as a unifier and a down-to-earth Politician.
The Jojoima-born Politician first served as Deputy Presidential Spokesman in the Tejan Kabbah led SLPP administration before he became Director of Communications at the Ministry of Information and Communications for almost four years before engaging in full time politics.
In his native Kailahun district, where he is regarded as a mobiliser, Alie Bah’s association cuts across party, tribal and political lines.
He is due to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments and the Public Service for ratification of his appointment.
