In his statement before making the donations on behalf of the Krio Community, the Chairman for Political Affairs, Mr. Alpha M.L. Alghali said the two days donation exercise was to, encourage and commit the NEC workers to fast track the registration process.

Mr. Alghali claimed that his group came to the aid of the NEC Workers because there were complaints that they were not getting food and water in their respective centres.

He said the Krio Community was formed for not only uniting them or bringing them together but to see that they enter into active politics this time round. “We no longer want to be seen taking the back seat in politics… Immediately after the group was formed we wasted no time to start pleading to the people of Freetown to stop throwing waist on the streets”, the Chairman explained. Mr. Alghali assured that they intend to extend their offices in other districts and also make sure that the Krios have good relationship with other tribes
