Le 50m Bail For Cottage Nurse

Magistrate Dr. Abou Bakarr Binneh Kamara yesterday granted bail to two accused persons Phyllis Stevens and Regina Stevens in the sum of fifty million Leones each.

ASP Samuel Kamara leading the prosecution said that the complainant is absent in court due to an illness of his baby who had to be rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Magistrate in his response granted each accused person bail in the sum of Le 50,000,000 each with a surety with national passport and must be a resident in the Western Area of Sierra Leone.

Phyllis Stevens and Regina Stevens are on trial for allegedly conspiring with other persons unknown on Monday 5th September 2016 at Ward 4, PCMH (Cottage) Hospital Freetown to steal a baby boy which is contrary to the laws of the Republic of Sierra Leone and also for kidnapping a one-day-old baby against his will.

The matter was adjourned to the 26 October 2016.
