MRU Scribe Praises Ebola Survivors

The Secretary General of the Mano River Union (MRU), Haja Dr. Sarian Daraba Kabba has said in Freetown that survivors of the Ebola Virus Disease are Ambassadors and that they should not be stigmatized. The Secretary General said there are many people who have been discharged from treatment centres after surviving the Ebola Virus Disease.
She made this disclosure during the discharge of over thirty four survivors at the Hastings Ebola Treatment centre. She called on survivors to be agent of change by sharing their stories to enhance early treatment.
Haja Dr. Daraba Kabba said the survivors have had a scary and serious experience but they have overcome the deadly disease. She said he should welcome them as they need social support from families, friends and their communities.
The Secretary General presented food and non food items to the survivors and commended the management of the Hastings Ebola Treatment Centre for the good work in handling Ebola patients.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Treatment Centre, Dr. Santigie Sesay welcomed the MRU Secretary General and briefed her about the centre which he said is purely managed by Sierra Leonean Doctors.
