A musician known as Paul Corn alias Coke ‘NG and Mohamed Lamin Kamara were yesterday refused bail and remanded for the second time at the Pademba Road Correctional Center in Freetown for the alleged murder of one Hannah Bockarie at the Aberdeen Beach Road, Lumley in Freetown.
The accused were charged with one count of murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused who are facing preliminary Investigation at the Magistrate Court No.1 presided over by Magistrate Komba Kamanda on the 13th August 2015, at the Aberdeen Lumley Beach Road did murder one Hannah Bockarie and abandoned her naked body with sand full in her mouth.
In his evidence in court, the first prosecution witness, Sergeant 8305 Sylvester S. Koroma told the court that he recognized the accused and recalled on the said date while on duty at the Aberdeen Police Station when he received a reported case of an abandoned corps from a concerned citizen at the above address in Freetown.
He said based on the information, himself together with a colleague officer immediately went to the scene of crime where they met the accused standing across the Street opposite the remains of Hannah Bockarie.
The witness said he approached the accused asking them whether they are living around the beach or know the deceased. In response, the accused said they did not know the deceased but according to the first accused a businessman and a musician by profession; he was sleeping at his bar on the day of the incident but said he did not hear any noise coming from within his business place.
The witness said while at the scene of crime, he informed his boss, the Line Manager about the incident and later requested for cloth to cover the naked corps of Hannah Bockarie which the first accused provided. After covering the corps of Hannah, he had cause to disperse the crowd preventing any snap shot from the crowd and invited both accused to the station for further investigation.
Lawyer A. Bah is defending the accused while Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dunia is prosecuting the matter. The matter was adjourned to the 19th November, 2015.
