A letter from State House has ordered the Acting General Manager of NPA (National Power Authority), Mustapha Kholifa Kargbo to revert to his substantive post as Energy Adviser to the President and immediately vacate Electricity House.
The new Acting General Manager is Engineer Alhaji Timbo who was before Tuesday this week, the Technical Services Manager at NPA.
No official reason has been given for the withdrawal of Mustapha Kargbo from NPA. It is alleged that his involvement in several contract negotiations with Independent Power Providers may have led to his demise at NPA.
State House sources admitted last night that it was a monumental blunder to have sent Mustapha Kargbo to NPA in an acting capacity. Mustapha Kargbo was appointed Acting Manager of NPA when Dr. Zubairu Kargbo was relieved of his duties as General Manager.
The former Minister of Energy, Oluniyi Robin-Coker was sacked alongside his deputy, Martin Bash-Kamara following the signing of a flawed contract that was not even seen by the Law Officers’ Department.
