Two state security guards attached to the Minister of Defence, Maj. (Rtd.) Alfred Palo Conteh lost their lives during a gruesome road accident around Matoi Village on the Bo/Masiaka highway last Sunday.
The accident reportedly took place after Maj. Palo Conteh instructed his military convoy to chase the official vehicle in which the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Madam Miatta Kargbo was being driven from Kenema after attending the funeral of the late William Juana Smith. Madam Miatta Kargbo’s official vehicle is being examined after it was hit right from the back by an unidentified vehicle.
The Global Times does not care whether or not Maj. Palo Conteh is a jealous lover or he is madly in love with Madam Miatta Kargbo. It is not the business of the Global Times to comment on whatever relationship there is between Maj. Palo Conteh and Madam Miatta Kargbo.
The Global Times will not rest until the death of the two soldiers is being properly investigated by the government. We ask the simple question: Why does Maj. Palo Conteh have to drive in a huge military convoy both within and even outside Freetown? That should form part of the investigation.
We insist that we will not interfere in the private life of both senior Cabinet Ministers. No way!
