Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh Kamara yesterday sentenced one Fomba Bunduka, a Police recruit with force number 16676 to a jail term of three months or pays a fine of three hundred thousand Leones.
The accused Police Constable 16676 Bunduka F. was found guilty on a preliminary investigation relating to false declaration contrary to Section 4(b) of the Perjury Act of 1911.
According to the particulars of offense, the accused on the 15th February, 2017 at the Human Resource Management Office of the Sierra Leone Police Headquarter at George Street in Freetown willfully and knowingly made false statement in his own hand writing purporting that his registered date of birth was 4th April 1988 in an application form for recruitment into the Sierra Leone Police Force for the rank of Constable of which he made those declarations as true and accurate information knowing them to be false.
On the other count, the accused, on the 23rd February 2017 at the Police Training School, Hasting in Freetown willfully and knowing made a false statement in his own hand writing claiming that his registered date of birth was 4th April, 1988 on the SLP Force Attestation sheet knowing same to be false.
