SIERRA LEONE PEOPLE’S PARTY
ONE COUNTRY, ONE PEOPLE

FREETOWN, THURSDAY 6TH JULY, 2017
The National Secretariat of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party, (SLPP) wish to assure its membership and the General Public that the Party continues to put together relevant strategies and policies to ensure relative peace, unity and preparedness to enable the party to form the next government come March, 2018.
It is regrettable that an intending flag bearer aspirant decided suspend his flag bearer campaign under the SLPP flag and opted instead to pursue his political ambition with a coalition outside the SLPP. Notwithstanding that the Party has problems with the way and reasons proffered for his current stance the door remains open should he re-consider his decisions to come back to the fold to contribute to the party’s quest for political power. Thus the Party deems the event as “a tempest in a family tea cup” that fizzles out without any visible cracks.
In that light, the Party is putting together appropriate modalities to do elections in the 39 (thirty nine) Constituencies and the host districts as ordered by the recent Court of Appeal Rulings of 05 June 2017 and 29th June, 2017.
After that, the party hopes to come out soon with a date to hold the much-needed National Delegates Conference to elect new National Officers and the flag bearer to provide the necessary political leadership for the party to win power in March, 2018.
