Justice John Bosco Allieu yesterday ordered the arrest and detention of three jurors for absenting from serious matters before the court including the alleged Tengbeh Town Murder trial of one Patrick Bangura alias Junior, involving three accused persons.
The arrest of the three jurors including Mohamed Sam, Lansana Sesay and Victor Kargbo was immediately effected after the matter was mentioned for hearing by State Counsel, Lawyer J.M.S. Bull. Justice Allieu frowned at the absenteeism of some of the Jurors after the State Counsel had brought in their witnesses to testify in the matter.
According to Justice Allieu, it is not good for the dispensation of justice for jurors to be absenting themselves from court without authorization.
He blasted the jurors as they are responsible for delaying and frustrating trials in court.
He therefore ordered a remand warrant to apprehend the above named jurors.
