Reports reaching this newspaper have revealed that Miss Adama Samuella Conteh, formerly of the Cassell Farm community in Kissy, in the eastern part of Freetown is now on the run fearing for the safety of her life after her step mother vowed to use all means to kill her for properties and money that was left to her by her late father.
The reports further stated that Adama’s trouble started when her father who had got sick handed to her the documents for the family houses, some plots of land and his bank account, with instructions that if he died, she was to take over all the properties and money and take care of her two step siblings with nothing left for her step mother.
A close family member who spoke to this Reporter but does not want his name to be mentioned, explained that after the death of Adama’s mother many years ago, Adam’s father, Pa Alie Conteh married Mrs. Aminata Conteh with whom he had a boy, Abu Conteh and a girl, Fatmata Conteh.
He also explained that Adama’s father had long fallen out with Adama’s step mother after he discovered that she was having sexual affairs with two different men.
“Pa Conteh got so bitter with his wife that he decided to cut her out of all his properties and money and leave everything with Adama with instructions to take care of her two younger step siblings,” he revealed.
He further stated that it was after the death of Pa Conteh in late June 2020, that Adama’s step mother found out that her late husband had handed over all his properties and money to Adama and her two step siblings, leaving nothing for her.
He further explained that Mrs. Aminata Conteh became so frustrated and angry, that at a family meeting, she openly declared that she was going to fight Adama physically and spirituality to revenge against Adama and get back what she said, belongs to her.
The family member further explained that one night in November 2020, three strange men broke into Adama’s apartment, ramshackled the whole place and took away a lot of items worth tens of millions of Leones.
He stated that fortunately for Adama she escaped through a secret door in the house.
The family member also disclosed that in early January this year 2021, Adama’s house was set on fire and she had to escape from the community and has never been seen since then.
When this Reporter went to the community to talk with both Adama and Mrs. Aminata Conteh, he was informed that both of them have not been seen in the community since the night that Adama’s house was burnt down.
He further disclosed that strange men continue to visit the community asking for Adama and threatening that the day they catch her they will make her disappear for ever.
