The Honourable Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh yesterday paid a working visit to the Kissy Oil Terminal to engage Oil Marketing Companies and assess ongoing renovation work in the various sites of NP (SL), APP and Total.
The Vice President visited all the sites and had fruitful discussions with the companies. He used the occasion to encourage the Oil Marketing Companies to take advantage of government support to the sector to work together and ensure stability in the supply and prices of petroleum products in the country. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh made this call against the backdrop of an apparent tussle between NP (SL) and the APP which is new in the market over re-routing of pipelines.
VP Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh expressed satisfaction with the current renovation work undertaken by NP (SL) and the massive reconstruction work carried out so far by APP to build a solid petroleum infrastructure in the country.
The Hon Vice President reiterated the commitment of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio government to continue to improve the investment environment for Oil Marketing Companies.
The VPās visit came in the wake of government efforts to open up the petroleum sector to ensure competitiveness, sustainable supply and price stability in the sector. Such laudable moves by government will no doubt ensure predictability in a sector that is widely impacted by external factors.
