The embattled Managing Director of the Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr Walton E. Gilpin, is to face disciplinary action for sexual harassment and workplace intimidation, according to a leaked legal opinion on a special investigation committee report submitted to the Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone, Prof. Kelfala Murana Kallon on 23rd June, 2022.
The report seriously indicted the Rokel Commercial Bank MD and recommended for him to be reassessed to see if he can continue “to be fit and proper to hold either current or proposed positions”.
The uncompromising Bank Governor has referred the matter to the Board of Directors of Rokel Commercial Bank “to use in coming to a definitive conclusion on the complaint against the MD”
The Bank Governor has given the Rokel Commercial Bank Board of Directors headed by Buffy Bailor until 1st August, 2022 to address the recommendations made by the Legal Affairs Department of the Central Bank.
Meanwhile, Dr Ekundayo Gilpin is grappling with a legal action in the High Court of Sierra Leone (Civil Division) taken against him for the termination of contract of employment of three senior officials of the Rokel Commercial Bank.
