The current head of the African Union Police Force in Somalia, Commissioner Augustine Kailie was yesterday appointed by the Police Council as Deputy Inspector General of Police.
Commissioner Kailie has been serving as head of a multinational Force in Somalia on secondment. Under his leadership the Police Multinational Police force comprising of police personnel and Special Forces across the continent has contributed immensely to the stability of Somalia that has allowed that conflict ridden country to organize recently a peaceful and transparent Parliamentary and Presidential elections.
Commissioner Kaillie made Sierra Leone proud with the amount of praises heaped on him by the leadership of the African Union Commission. Prior to serving in Somalia, Kailie was head of the Special Security Division. He will bring to this position a wealth of local and international experience in Police Management and operations. He holds a Bachelorโs Degree and Masters in Peace and Development Studies.
