During a nationwide tour of voter registration centres on the final day of Phase One of the exercise on Saturday, 17th September 2022, the Chairman of the NCRA Board of Authority, Sorie Fofana was assured by some party agents deployed at voter registration centres in Kailahun district that they were ‘highly satisfied’ with the process.
The APC Party Agent deployed at the famous Kailahun Court Barry at the centre of Kailahun town with Centre Code number 1070, John Aruna disclosed that he had seen and witnessed no underage voter registration. “I have no problem with the voter registration exercise here at this centre…No problem at all…No violence, no provocation and no intimidation”, he assured.
Another APC Party Agent in Segbwema at voter registration centre number 01169 at the RC Primary School, Madam Musu Conteh, praised the voter registration process by noting that they experienced only minor issues with power supply at the start of the process. “But now, we are ok with the process…No underage voter registration took place here…Those who attempted were rejected and sent home by the Registration Officer Mr. Yambasu Bindi”, she said.
In all the voter registration centres visited, the NCRA Chairman, Sorie Fofana, confirmed that only two political parties deployed Party Agents (the APC and the SLPP).
The second phase of the voter registration exercise is expected to commence tomorrow, 20th September, 2022 according to ECSL
