President Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio has told the people of Kono District that their wellbeing and livelihood matter very much to him and that he would do all he can to redeem them from the 11 years’ social injustice they went through during the reign of the APC. He gave this assurance during his Thank You Tour in Baiama Town and Gardorhun Town in Tankoro and Gbane Chiefdoms in Kono District respectively.

The President noted that the development activities that are ongoing in the district are not being done out of sentiment but are being done in order to redeem Kono District from the backward state it has been for decades and match it up with other districts in terms of modern development.

“I have visited Kono District more than any other district, because, I want to know their problems and fix them as you deserve more under my leadership,” he said. He added that the construction of the Kono University of Science and Technology, roads, bridges, installation of 24 hours electricity, school feeding program, Free Quality Education among others in the district is to demonstrate how serious his government is to give life to the people of Kono.

He assured the people of the respective chiefdoms of more development opportunities, and urged them to focus on the things that will unite them as a district more than on those things that divide them.

President Bio admonished the people of Kono to vote for the SLPP in the upcoming June elections, as by doing so, they are voting for their future and the future of their children.

He emphasized  that, he is going to stand with the people of Kono at all times, as Kono matters to him and that he will be grateful to make Kono the bread basket of the country once again.

The President used the forum to explain in details his plans and aspirations for the people of Kono and assured them of more development before and after the general elections in June this year.
