Sixteen SLPP candidates have received provisional nomination certificates to contest as ordinary Members of Parliament in Bombali district on 24th June. The ECSL (Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone) District Returning Officer in Bombali and team processed the nomination forms at their office in Makeni on Sunday, 7th May, 2023 and certified them.
One of the leading SLPP MP candidates in Bombali district, Nfamara Kallon, after going through the nomination process, addressed the media. He informed newsmen that his party is determined to win at least four out of the eight Parliamentary seats in Bombali district.
Speaking with confidence, Nfamara Kallon of Constituency 035 in Bombali district noted that, the people of Bombali district appreciate President Dr. Julius Maada Bioโs Free Quality Education program and his rural electrification project.
Nfamara Kallon observed that, for eleven years in power, the APC did not do much for the people of Bombali. โThey failed our peopleโฆThey made fake and unfulfilled promises to our people just to get their votesโฆThe people have seen the difference between the APC in government and the SLPP in governmentโฆThe SLPP is a โKombra Partyโ, he said.
Nfamara Kallon called on the people of Bombali district to come out in their Chinese numbers and vote massively for President Bio and the SLPP on June 24. He noted that, President Bio deserves five more years in office to finish the good job he started in April 2018.
The SLPP MP candidate in Bombali district called on SLPP members and supporters to ignore the intimidation tactics of the APC and come out to cast their votes on elections day. โI can assure you that, these elections will be the most peaceful elections ever held in Sierra LeoneโฆHis Excellency the President has committed openly to preside over a peaceful election on June 24…Nobody should attempt to undermine the peace and tranquility of this country for self-serving reasonsโ, Mr. Kallon warned.
Other SLPP MP aspirants also expressed similar sentiments and called for the conduct of peaceful elections throughout the country on 24th June, 2023.
Bombali district is believed to be an opposition stronghold. The SLPP is determined to win at least four out of the eight Parliamentary seats in the district, according to the leading SLPP MP candidate, Nfamara Kallon.
