Addressing a press conference at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown yesterday, the APC Presidential candidate Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara called on the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of ECSL (Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone) and all ECSL Commissioners to resign within 72 hours to make way for the 24th June elections to be conducted by a new outfit to be appointed by the international community.
At the same press conference, Dr. Samura Kamara called on Sierra Leoneans to come out and cast their votes on June 24, 2023.
Reacting to Dr Samura Kamaraโs long and confusing speech, the Chief Minister and SLPP Manifesto Committee Chairman, Jacob Jusu Saffa said, โThe APC Presidential candidate has clearly shown that, he is unfit and unprepared to govern our country…At yesterdayโs press conference the man spent two hours making a rambling speechโฆCalling for the entire ECSL Commissioners to resign within 72 hours with less than 2 weeks to general elections shows that either the APC party Presidential candidate is not ready or he is not prepared to take part in the elections scheduled for 24th June, 2023โฆHis only interest is to cause chaos in the country and provoke or incite violence in order for the elections to be postponedโฆThe ECSL have made it very clear that they are set to conduct elections on 24th June 2023โ, Jacob Jusu Saffa said.
The Chief Minister assured that, the SLPP and all other registered political parties will take part in the elections on 24th June, 2023.

Saffa said.
A spokesman for the ECSL told the Global Times last night that โelections will go ahead as scheduled on 24th June, 2023โ.
