“𝐖𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧” – 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐲𝐬

The Chief Electoral Commissioner of ECSL, Mohamed K. Konneh said at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown yesterday that, himself and all his Commissioners would not resign their positions and they would continue in with the job of conducting free, fair, credible and transparent elections.
Addressing members of the press and elections observers to update them about the activities of the Commission, the Chief Electoral Commissioner of ECSL Mohamed Konneh was defiant when he said that “I and my Commissioners will not resign”.
He further said the ECSL will continue to do its job to ensure that they conduct a free, fair and credible election on 24th June 2023.
“The voting process has already started for early voters throughout the country and I am calling on all political parties to conduct themselves as expected and stakeholders to come onboard in the interests of Sierra Leone”, Mohamed Konneh said.
He also dispelled rumours doing the rounds on social media that the security forces also voted yesterday. He revealed that only people who will be performing this year’s Hajj voted yesterday.
It would be recalled that the main opposition APC flag bearer Dr. Samura Kamara on Wednesday called on the Chief Electoral Commissioner and all of his Commissioners to resign their positions. He gave them 72 hours to do so.
