At least fifty-four staff members of NRA (National Revenue Authority) have been shifted to different locations, departments and units. Those affected include managers, supervisors and revenue officers. The transfers take effect immediately. A spokesman for NRA described the transfers as โ€œroutine internal mobilityโ€.

The new Commissioner General of NRA, Ibrahim Brima Swarray, is determined to build a new team in order to maximize revenue generation, according to a spokesman for the Authority.

A source close to the NRA informed the Global Times last night that those staff members that were transferred to the Non-Tax Revenue Department do not always see eye to eye with the new Commissioner General.

Some of the staff members affected include: Mohamed Maya Kaikai, Abdulai Amadu Bonapha, Mrs. Agnes Kargbo, Mohamed B. Marah, Vandy Mansaray, David Hughes, Mohamed Kabba-Massaquoi, Cyril Davidson Showers, etc.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that some Commissioners will also be affected by changes expected to be discussed and approved by the Board of Commissioners headed by the iron-lady Mrs Tuma Gento-Kamara.

The fate of the Commissioner responsible for the Domestic Tax Department, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, is hanging in the balance.

Investigations continue.
