In support of President Dr Julius Maada Bio’s Free Quality Education program, the Chief Executive Officer of Unity Broadcasting, Mrs Elizabeth Kefue (nee Gembeh), on Wednesday donated a large quantity of school essentials including pens, pencils, books and uniforms to school pupils in Mattru Jong and Tihun Sogbini in the Bonthe district, Southern Province of Sierra Leone.
The donation ceremony took place at the SLPP district office in Mattru Jong, Bonthe district.
The auspicious occasion was attended by parents, religious leaders, SLPP officials, district and local council representatives, traditional leaders and school administrators.
Mrs Elizabeth Kefue told newsmen that, the donation came from her and was meant to complement the efforts of President Dr Julius Maada Bio in promoting education (especially girl-child education) in the country at large and in Bonthe district in particular.
She called on parents to send their children to school as they are the future leaders of this country.
The items donated include:
#1000 books
#200 pairs of school uniforms for both boys and girls
#3,000 pencils
#1,500 pens
Mrs Elizabeth Kefue (nee Gembeh) is a prominent member of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). She has been supporting the less-privilege in society including physically-challenged people. She is well known for her philanthropic work.
Mrs Elizabeth Kefue has meanwhile helped to change the narrative of lies on social media with her live online coverage of activities.
