The Office of the Prosecutor (“OTP”) of the International Criminal Court (“the ICC”) presents its compliments to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Nations in New York.
Reference is made to the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (“the UNGA”), to be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and, in particular, its General Debate, opening on Tuesday, 19 September 2023.
In this regard, the lCC Office of the Prosecutor respectfully requests the opportunity of a bilateral meeting between the ICC Prosecutor, Karim A.A. Khan KC, and H.E. Mr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, in the margins of the UNGA General
Debate. The Prosecutor would welcome the opportunity to discuss the leadership of the Republic of Sierra Leone with regard to matters related to the ICC and the tenure of the Republic of Sierra Leone as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
The Office attaches great importance to this meeting and hopes its request can be accommodated.
The Office is grateful for a response to be sent to the Office of the Prosecutor.
The Office avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Republic of Sierra Leone the assurances of its highest consideration.
