His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Kabba, the Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament Hon. Sidie M. Tunis, Chief Immigration Officer, Hon. Alusine Kanneh and a member of parliament, have attended the inaugural ceremony of the President of the Republic of Liberia, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai at the Capitol Building, Capitol Hill, Monrovia.
President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and his entourage arrived in the early hours of Monday, 22nd January, and were received by the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Liberia, Ambassador Eddie S. Massally, diplomatic staff of the Embassy, and the Sierra Leone community at the Roberts International Airport. The reception included a military salute from the guard of honor, followed by the playing of Sierra Leoneโ€™s national anthem.
The colorful Inauguration ceremony drew the attention of high-profiled officials, including current and former Heads of State and government officials, along with the U.S. Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield.
During the event, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai delivered a speech of hope to the Liberian people.
