The All Petroleum Products Sierra Leone (APP-SL) has taken the driving seat to supply our sister country Guinea with fast, large and high quality petroleum products to ease the fuel problem the Guineans are faced with since the fire disaster that burnt down their fuel distribution facility in Conakry in December last year.
Speaking to the Global Times, Nfa Amara Kallon Media and Marketing Officer of APP-SL said, they have now taken over the supply of petroleum products to Guinea effective 23rd January 2024 and that since then the fleet of Guinean fuel tanks have hit the ground running.
He also said that they now have about 300 fuel tanks on the ground that will depart for various parts of Guinea pretty soon. He confirmed that with their newly constructed state-of-the-art Gantry, they will discharge 40,000 litters in 20 minutes which makes it faster and easier to supply the products to the Guineans.
According to the Managing Director of APP-SL, Mr Patrick Oโ€™Dwyer โ€œWe will do our best to make sure that we support the Government of Sierra Leone to boost the sound working relationship between the two countries as we have the capacity and infrastructure to flood the Guinean market with the much needed petroleum products effectivelyโ€ he concluded.
It would be recalled that, on the 5th January 2023 a delegation, headed by Prime Minister Bernard Goumou of the Republic of Guinea, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio, to convey felicitations and a message of solidarity from President Col. Mamadi Doumbouya, the government and the people of Guinea.
Addressing the Guinean delegation, President Julius Maada Bio thanked the delegation for the visit, adding that his government would continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and Guinea, paying tributes to the ever-enduring neighbourliness the two countries had had for decades.
He expressed hope that both countries would work together to ensure a sustainable architecture that would enable Guinea to get petroleum products from Sierra Leone, as long as necessary, and open up other opportunities in trade, health and energy sectors.
According to one of the Guinean drivers, Mr. Mamadou Bah, said they are happy with the fast and easy way they are now going about their delivery and praised the people of Sierra Leone for their warm hospitality
