Mr. Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, and Justice Abdulai Bangurah JSC, Chairman of the Political Parties Regulatory Commission, participated in the 2024 Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) Meeting in South Korea.
The gathering also brought together Executive Board members of A-WEB to discuss and approve various issues. ECSL and PPRC jointly hold membership on the Executive Board, with Sierra Leone being one of three African countries represented.
The meeting aimed to enhance understanding of global democracy, strengthen A-WEB’s international reputation, and foster relationships among member and partner organizations.
In another development, Mr. Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, and Justice Abdulai Bangurah JSC, Former Chairman of the Political Parties Regulatory Commission, recently made a courtesy visit to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Seoul, South Korea.
Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by Madam Aisha Sillah, Head of Chancery at the Embassy, who expressed gratitude for their visit and provided insights into the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and South Korea.
Madam Aisha Sillah also mentioned that the Korean government has a consulate in Sierra Leone and is actively working towards establishing an embassy in the future. Warm regards were also extended from Ambassador Kathos Mattia, who is currently on leave.
