Alimamy Sesay an Assistant Captain at PM Ferry was on Thursday sent on remand at the Pademba Road Correctional center by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.2 along Pademba Road in Freetown.
The accused made his first appearance in court and was charged with One Count of murder contrary to Section 1 of the Offences Against the Person’s Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1(a) of the Schedule of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021, Act No 6 of 2022.
According to the particulars of offense, the accused Alimamy Sesay on Wednesday 10th January 2024, at Shipyard, Kaninkay, Freetown allegedly murdered Osman Sesay.
After the charge was read to him, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on his behalf.
The Police Prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson F M, informed the court that witnesses were present but could not proceed in the given circumstances and therefore requested for an adjournment.
The matter was adjourned to Monday 8th April 2024 as requested by the prosecutor and the accused sent on remand
