𝐁𝐲: 𝐇𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚.
Thirty-seven years old Alfred Conteh, a Gold Miner has appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.2 at Pademba Road in Freetown on four count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law, Embezzlement, fraudulent conversion and money laundering.
According to the particulars of offence on a date between 3rd December 2021 to 20th August 2023 at Makoni village, Diang Chiefdom Kabala, in Koinadugu district conspired with another person to defraud Alie Condah of Thirty Five Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Three carats of gold valued at Five Hundred and Thirty Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Four United States Dollars.
On Count Two on the above date and place, the accused person being a Clerk of Dojo Resources (SL) Limited at #41 Bathurst Street Freetown embezzled Thirty Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Three carats of gold valued at Five Hundred and Thirty Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Four United States Dollars being the property of Alie Condah.
On Count Three on the above date and place the accused person fraudulently converted to his own Thirty Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Three carats of gold valued at Five Hundred and Thirty Eight Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Four United States dollars being the property of Alie Condah. On Count Four, the accused person on the above date and place illicitly converted
Thirty Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Three carats of gold valued at Five Hundred and Thirty Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Four United States Dollars the property of the said Alie Condah.
No plea was entered after charges were read by the prosecutor.
Magistrate Bangura while presiding on the matter gave his satisfaction that the prosecutors have presented enough evidence against the accused that should warrant the matter to be committed to High Court
Lawyer C. Kamara, Counsel representing the accused person applied for bail, but was denied by the Magistrate
