Justice Alhaji Mohamed Momoh Jah Stevens yesterday temporarily ordered for the accused, Ikubolaje Nicol, to be hospitalised but be placed under strict security supervision of the Correctional Services.
The judge furthered that an updated medical report be produced by the medical superintendent at the Correctional Services to the court every two weeks while the trial continues.
He also ordered the Director General of Correctional Services to provide detailed reports to the court with regards to the wellbeing and custody of the accused, and how his activities are being managed.
The accused is said to have for the past week been taken back to the Correctional Facility, from his Connaught Hospital bed where he was undergoing urgent medical treatment.
The sixth prosecution witness, Mohamed Coleson Kamara, a Registrar of the High Court assigned to Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens said he recalled receiving the original case file of Ikubolaje Nicol which contained the deposition of Dr Mohamed Alie Bangura who testified as the eighth witness at the preliminary hearing conducted at the Magistrate Court.
The eight-page testimony documents of the deponent, Dr Mohamed Alie Bangura was produced by the witness and tendered to form part of the prosecution`s case.
The matter was adjourned to May 21, 2024.
