The United States of America Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt on Tuesday 14th May 2024 visited the Sierra Leone Peoples Party office in Koidu Town, Kono District.
On his arrival at the SLPP office, the US Ambassador was welcomed by the SLPP Kono District Chairman, Safea Moiwa, and other senior executive members of the party to their Kainkordu Road office.
Chairman Moiwa said they had fruitful discussions with Ambassador Hunt and his entourage during which time they discussed pertinent issues towards the development of Kono and most importantly, President Bio’s big Five Game Changers which will serve as the bedrock for the development of the country as a whole.
According to a U.S. Embassy Press, “Ambassador Hunt is dedicated to connecting with communities across Sierra Leone and has visited Kono district for in-depth discussions with local leaders; including District Council Chair, Augustine Sheku, Koidu City Mayor, Mathew Komba Sam, and Paramount Chief Komba Sangor Korgbende Kaimachiande IV.โ€ The talks focused on boosting agriculture, reducing dependency on diamond mining, and enhancing governance.
With support from USAID, the leaders also explored ways to empower women and promote community development. These initiatives aim to drive sustainable growth and improve resource management, benefiting the people of Kono. Join us in supporting Konoโ€™s journey towards a brighter, sustainable future!”.
