The Honourable Vice President, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh yesterday, commissioned a much-needed community market at Kola Tree in Freetown, where he promised the market women a micro-credit scheme to empower them.
The community market was built by the Chinese Railway Seventh Group (CRSG), as part of their corporate social responsibility along the Wellington-Masiaka Highway.
The Vice President proceeded to Songo, where he launched the Community Development Fund created to support communities along the Toll Corridor.
CRSG donated SLL1 million to the fund and promised to increase its donation yearly. The Chinese will build three markets as well in the toll corridor.
The Republic of Sierra Leone and the People’s Republic of China continue enjoying a long-standing relationship anchored on mutual respect and shared values.
