Justice Aiah Simeon Alieu has sentenced Sinneh Suma to 34 years in prison at the Maximum Correctional Centre in Freetown after convicting him of sexual penetration and incest on Thursday.
Sinneh Suma, 30, would be expected to serve a concurrent jail term of 20 years for one count of sexual penetration, and 14 years for incest.
The victim, 13, and a pupil of a primary school at Bureh Town in the Western Rural on a date unknown between January 1, and September 14, 2023, wad sexually penetrated by her biological father, Sinneh Suma.
The matter was reported by the 13-year-old victim’s mother at the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Sierra Leone Police at Tombo.
According to the victim’s mother (Ms. Kargbo), she knew the then accused as her husband and father of the victim, and recalled on the above dates went to the bush with her daughter (victim) to collect fire wood, on their way returning home the victim told her that she was sexually penetrated by her father.
Meanwhile, Dr Suad Kamara, a medical practitioner attached to the Rainbow Medical Centre also recalled examining the victim on September 15, 2023, and reduced findings into a report.
Detective Police Constable (DPC) 13999 Kamara attached to the FSU, Tombo Police Station recalled investigating the matter together with DPC 13430 Kargbo and others.
