The new European Union Ambassador to Sierra Leone Jacek Krzysztof Jankowski presented his letter of credence to President Julius Maada Bio at State House in Freetown yesterday.
In a Face Book post, President Bio said, โI received letters of credence from European Union Ambassador to Sierra Leone Jacek Krzysztof Jankowski at State House. We have strong relations with the European Union, and we look forward to deepening the partnership between the government and people of Sierra Leone and the European Unionโ.
Ambassador Jacek Krzysztof Jankowski is the new EU Ambassador designated to Sierra Leone. He is a seasoned diplomat; he has served as Polish Ambassador to Ethiopia and EU Ambassador to Zambia.
President Bio also received a letter of Credence from the new British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone Josephine Gauld at State House.
President also said “Britain and Sierra Leone have had a long historical relationship that has been characterised by close partnership and collaborationโฆToday, with great delight, the British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Josephine Gauld, presented her credentials to me at State House. I look forward to an even deeper relationship with the United Kingdom based on promoting our mutual interests and building even closer ties”.
Josephine Gauld joined the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in 2002. She has previously served in the Democratic Republic of Congo, twice in Cote dโIvoire, and Nigeria. She was the British Ambassador to Cote dโIvoire between 2016 and 2020.
She studied Italian and Philosophy at Leeds University, and MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics, a Masters in European Public Policy from the Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and a Diploma in Public Administration from lโEcole Nationale dโAdministration (ENA) in France.
