The Tribal Authorities of Dembelia Sinkunia Chiefdom in the Falaba district have elected Shekuba Mansaray as their Paramount Chief. In the first round of voting on 29th November, 2024 fifteen candidates contested. Shekuba Mansaray polled 364 votes followed closely by Alhaji FBL Mansaray who polled 216 votes.
In the run-off election, Shekuba Mansaray scored 581 votes leaving Alhaji FBL Mansaray with 18 votes. 21 void votes were recorded. The Returning Officer declared Shekuba Mansaray the duly elected Paramount Chief of Dembelia Sinkunia Chiefdom.
In his victory speech, the new PC called for unity. He thanked all those who took part in the election. He described his victory as “a victory for the people of Dembelia Sinkunia Chiefdom”.
The elections were described as free, fair and transparent.
