The Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura, was yesterday relieved of his Ministerial duty by President Julius Maada Bio. He is (was) considered as one of President Bioโs blue-eyed boys.
No reason was given for his sacking. However, many people believe that, his sacking had everything to do with lower-level elections violence in Tonkolili district where he is vying for the post of SLPP District Chairman.
Also relieved of their duties are the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Moriba Koroma and the Managing Director of Sierra Leone National Shipping Company, Ahmed Saybom Kanu.
Moriba Koroma is the SLPP Kenema District Chairman while Ahmed Saybom Kanu is the partyโs Tonkolili District Chairman. They are both seeking re-election.
Mohamed Orman Bangura yesterday thanked President Bio for the opportunity given to him to serve as a cabinet minister in his government.
For his part, Saybom Kanu said that, he was willing to serve the SLPP at all times.
