𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞

The producers of the much-anticipated Bormeh Series have announced a new premiere date, set for May 24, 2025, at the Freetown City Council Auditorium. The change was confirmed in an official press statement released by the production team.

Originally scheduled to debut on May 10, the premiere was rescheduled to accommodate a larger and more inclusive audience, as well as to support a unified front in the growing Sierra Leonean film industry.

“As previously announced, May 10th was our initial premiere date,” the statement reads. “However, we recognize that the Sierra Leone film industry is still growing, and it’s not in the best interest of the community to have competing premieres on the same day. We believe in one industry, in unity. This decision is rooted in our deep respect for our fellow filmmakers and our collective vision for growth.”

Described as a cinematic milestone for Sierra Leone, Bormeh Series is being hailed as the country’s first-ever cinematic television series. A production of KID-AFAN FILMS and Sierraflixx Inc., the series is created and directed by Chernor Kargbo and Idrissa Barry Jalloh, with the screenplay written by Kargbo.

The production was led by Idrissa Barry Jalloh and Kadija Jalloh, and executive producers include Lead Executive Producer Dr. Isatu Kakay-Diallo (The Game Changer), Idrissa Barry Jalloh, KID-AFAN FILMS, and Sierraflixx Inc

The Series features a powerful lineup of Sierra Leonean talents, including Seray Timbo, John Yemi Ade-Coker, Christian Kamara, Nancy Kargbo, and Fatty Sheriff. Cinematography was handled by Idrissa Barry Jalloh and Sheriff Kabia, with Jalloh also serving as the film editor.

Bormeh Series explores themes of power, secrecy, and resilience set against the backdrop of the infamous Bormeh dumpsite in Freetown. The storyline follows the mysterious First Lady, Mrs. Antonia Wright, portrayed by Christiana Kamara, as she navigates a world filled with hidden truths and political intrigue. The series also features Fantacee Wiz as the voice behind the soundtrack, adding to the anticipation among fans.

According to the producers, the project aims to uplift Sierra Leone’s image through cinematic storytelling and bring authentic African narratives to a global audience.

“This is more than just a film—it’s a movement,” the statement continues. “It represents transformation, collaboration, and African storytelling at its finest. Our mission is to bring Sierra Leonean stories to the global stage while showcasing the very best of our culture, talent, and creativity.”

Tickets are already on sale for the May 24 premiere, and expectations are high for what many are calling a pivotal moment in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.
