A case of seditious libel has been filed against the Minister of Sports, Madam Auguster James-Teima.
The lawsuit was filed by the former Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, in relation to issues surrounding the sacking of the Head Coach of the Sierra Leone national football team, Leone Stars, Mr. Mohamed Kallon.
According to reports, the case file has reached the office of the Chief Justice, Justice Komba Kamanda, and is awaiting assignment to a Judge for hearing.
It could be recalled that in April this year, a dispute arose between the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) over alleged significant administrative failures within the NSA.
The matter later developed into the dismissal of Mohamed Kallon as Head Coach of Leone Stars, a decision from which the Ministry of Sports, led by Minister Augusta James-Teima, distanced itself.
