Leading oil marketing company, National Petroleum (NP-SL) Limited Saturday commissioned a new filling station outlet in Mattru Jong, Bonthe district as part of efforts to ensure that the company’s petroleum products are accessible across the nook and cranny of the country.

Speaking in Mattru town, the Proprietor of the new filling station, Mustapha Kallon, expressed optimism for partnering with National Petroleum (SL) Limited and the efforts of the latterโ€™s management for supporting his establishment until completion.

Kallon said his establishment with a capacity of over 60000 litres is enough to see off the prevalent fuel crisis in the township and its environs and called on residents to take ownership of the property which has created job opportunities for them.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of NP-SL Limited, Kobi Walker noted that the company remains committed to ensuring that petroleum products are easily accessible to residents in Mattru Jong and the entire Bonthe district, whilst also providing employment opportunities for the same.

“You will never have to travel 52 miles again to go buy petroleum products in Bo City,” Walker promised, saying their products are now available to the doorstep in the district.

He assured his new partners that the company always imports good petroleum products including petrol, diesel, gas, lubricants, and Castrol Oil that has been widely accepted among its users.

Council Joseph Silvalie said as a result of the poor road network within Bonthe, the district has been faced with an acute shortage of petroleum products but hoped that the timely intervention of NP will be a blessing for the district for not only extending its services to Mattru but also employing its residents.

Councillor Silvalie said some people dishonestly create artificial fuel scarcity in the district but expressed hopes that the management of the new NP outlet will not be a party to that menace.
