The township of Jaima Sewafe and it environs, in the Niminyama Chiefdom, Kono District will soon benefit from safe pipe borne water after a long period of time.
During his recent visit to Kono, President Bio promised the people of Sewafe of safe drinking water soon, as the people earlier requested during a town hall meeting.
The hard-working and result oriented SLPP Kono District Chairman, Mr. Safia Moiwa left no stone unturned as he was in constant touch with the Minister of Water Resources to make sure that his people get the water project promised by the President.
After a series of engagements and consultations with the Ministry of Water Resources, finally Water Aid has accepted to implement the project for the people of Jaima Sewafe.
On Saturday 4th December 2021 a team of engineers from Water Aid visited Sewafe to do an assessment of the cost for the entire project as the population of the township has grown over the years, as the dilapidated water facility in the township was done in the 1980s.
