The new Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu took a tour of some major streets in the central business district (CBD) of Freetown yesterday.
He was joined by senior RMFA and SLRA personnel on a visit to project sites for the fabrication & installation of Guard Rails along Sani Abacha Street and other streets within the central business district in Freetown.
IG Sellu said his visit was to get a first-hand information of what is going on on the ground and to give confidence to the business community as their security and the state is paramount. He encouraged people to be law-abiding and go about their normal businesses as they are in safe hands.
Speaking to some business people at Abacha Street, they applauded the move made by the IGP to come down to them as it was reassuring. โ€œSeeing the IGP in front of our shops makes us feel good as our confidence has been restoredโ€, an Abacha Street business woman said.
