Since his appointment (commission) as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the Republic of South Sudan, Juba, Mr. Kamel Yatim, has given great visibility to Sierra Leone and has strengthened the country’s diplomatic ties, by engaging senior government officials in South Sudan, foreign diplomats and investors on behalf of Sierra Leone.
During regular diplomatic engagements, Mr. Yatim has been talking about the rapid progress Sierra Leone has made since His Excellency President Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio came to power in April 2018.
He has been briefing foreign diplomats based in Juba, South Sudan about President Bio’s flagship agenda of human capital development, the free quality education program, the stability of the country and its friendly investment climate. He has described President Bio as “a decent man who truly loves his country and people”.
Mr. Kamel Yatim who travels a lot on international business trips, has assured foreign investors that Sierra Leone is once again open for business. He noted that the personal credibility of President Bio is helping to attract donor support in several areas including in the education and energy sectors.
Mr. Yatim has reiterated that access to electricity supply in the capital city of Freetown and in the headquarter towns of Bo, Kenema, Makeni and even Kono has increased exponentially. He described the security situation in the country as very stable.
Mr. Kamel Yatim has been described as “a true representative of Sierra Leone in the outside world”. He is flying the Green, White and Blue flag high in South Sudan.

orary Consul General in the Republic of South Sudan.
