A well-know human right activist who live in Bo District South of Sierra Leone, Foday Kanu who was also a campaign leader for the Bo District for the former ruling All Peoples Congress Party (APC) is presently on the run.
According to report gathered by this press, Foday Kanu was engaged in sensitizing youths against youth violence in the country. Throughout the electioneering campaign period, he also opened a training workshop for the youths. Engaging youths all over the district to be useful in society according to reliable source, few days after the All Peoples Congress Party lost the election to the then opposition Sierra Leones Peoples Part, Foday Kanu Live came under serious threat, his house was raided by people who identified themselves as supporters of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party, and he was beaten mercilessly in his workshop and was locked up in the workshop to be burned.
He was saved by few of the boys he trained. He was later taken to an unknown place by the police. Sources also confirmed that, his wife Mrs Samiella Kanu was also beaten mercilessly and she was left to die in her shop. And inside state that they will not stop looking for Foday Kanu until head is cut off.
He has to flee for safety with his wife Samiella Kanu, his family members too has to run for the safety of their life.
This reporter also reached the family of Foday Kanu but they said that the whereabout their son is not known. Uptill press time the whereabout of Foday Kanu is unknown. It will be recalled that since the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) won the last elections, there has been wildly reported cases of thuggery intimidation, and harassment meted on some opposition, All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, some of which victimsโ whereabout are unknown.
Investigation conducted by this press proved that APC Party Supporters who actively too part in the last elections are constantly attacked by the ruling party south-east stronghold.
It can be recalled in April this year, a good number of APC supporters where chased with stick and machetes out of the town and villages in Kono District, Bo District, Kenema District and other villages and Towns in Sierra Leone.
Which the Sierra Leone Police say they are still investigating.
