NaCSA Supports 36,000 Beneficiaries

The public could recall that on Friday, 14th October 2020, the National Commission for Social Action (NacSA) commenced the verification of 36,000 (Thirty-Six Thousand) potential beneficiaries of the COVlD-19 Emergency Cash Transfer ll (ECT Il) in all markets and street settlements across Freetown including potential listed beneficiaries from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security MLSS) and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MoTCA). This exercise was completed in November 2020 in collaboration with MLSS, MoTCA, Freetown City Council (FCC), Traders’ Council and other Trade associations.

Having completed data cleaning, preparation for facial recognition and setting up of pay points, NaCSA wishes to inform potential beneficiaries and the public that on Saturday 8 May, 2021, it will commence targeting, enrolment and payment of all verified potential beneficiaries in Freetown only.

The targeted and enrolled beneficiaries will receive a one-time payment of Le 1,309,000 (One Million, Three Hundred and Nine Thousand Leones) through Rokel Commercial Bank. Payments will be done via an electronic voucher that will be valid for a period of 15 days (fifteen days). Therefore, all potential beneficiaries are encouraged to collect their benefits within the validity period of their electronic voucher.

Beneficiaries of the first phase of ECT who were targeted and enrolled but did not receive their benefits should kindly go to NaCSA Headquarters 14/15 Charlotte Street, Freetown. The Grievance Redress Mechanism Officer, Ibrahim Kailie will take all necessary action to ensure that beneficiaries receive their benefits.

Beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries are cautioned that no one should offer or pay anything to anybody before, during and after receiving the payment. Any attempted extortion or corrupt practices must be reported to the Ant-Corruption Commission (ACC) using the toll-free number 515 or directly to ACC Community Monitors or other ACC officials.
