New SLPP Chairman Delivers Kono

The newly elected Chairman for the Sierra Leoneโ€™s People Party (SLPP), Mr. Safea Moiwa has vowed to deliver the entire Kono district to the SLPP come 2023.

Barely few weeks after being elected as Chairman of SLPP Kono District, Mr. Moiwa sprang into action by mobilizing his colleagues and SLPP youths and stakeholders in the district into a comprehensive and planned campaign for the just concluded local council bye election in Ward 091, Kono District held on Saturday 13th November, 2021 which the SLPP won conveniently.

The SLPP candidate, Kai Sama Mondeh got 1,188 votes, Sahr Issa the Independent Candidate got 916 votes, Tamba Sogbeh of APC got 131 votes, while Tamba Komba of C4C got 28 votes and Sahr Komba of RUFP got 12 votes.

Speaking to the Global Times, Chairman Moiwa, said with him at the helm of affairs, SLPP will regain its lost glory in the district and with the developmental projects the government of President Bio has in the pipeline coupled with the ongoing ones we will surely regain the seats the party lost during the 2018 election.

He also said that โ€œThe bye election we just won at Sandor Chiefdom was a litmus test for me and my hard-working executive and faithful party members as it is the birthplace of the former APC Vice President, Chief Samuel Sam Sumanaโ€.

President Bio is expected to visit Kono district this week to turn the sod for the construction of the first-ever university to be built in Kono district.
