𝐁𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐁. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐲.
The Tribunal that was set up by the Government of Sierra Leone to look into the activities of the suspended Auditor-General of Audit Service Sierra Leone, Mrs Lara Taylor Pearce and her Deputy, Tamba Momoh has been adjourned to October, following a closed-door consultative meeting involving the three Judges.
The adjournment was pronounced by David Farma, the Assistant Secretary to the Tribunal during a hearing held at the Main Law Court Building on Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown.
The judges sitting on the Tribunal are the retired Justice Mrs Nyawo Matturi Jones as Chairperson; Court of Appeal Judge, Ansumana Ivan Sesay; and Lahai Momoh Farmah from the Law Officers Department.
The first defendant, the embattled Auditor-General, Lara Taylor Pearce was absent during the hearing, but her Deputy, Tamba Momoh was present with his legal representative, Lawyer Mohamed Pa. Momoh Fofana.
Mrs Pearce was suspended from office in November 2021 for professional misconduct.
A Tribunal was set up by President Julius Maada Bio to inquire into the Auditor General`s activities.
Madam Lara Taylor Pearce and her right hand man, Tamba Momoh are accused of violating the Financial Management Act of 2016, the Fiscal Management and Responsibility Act of 2017, and the National Public Procurement Act of 2016
