Throngs of SLPP party supporters, party die-hards, friends and relatives from across the country on Saturday, July 23rd graced the heroic entering of Alhaji Kanja Ibrahim Sesay to the countryโs second city, Bo.
Ushered in the city along the principal streets of Bo from the Falla Checkpoint with over 500 fleet of automobiles and Motorbikes and over 5,000 ground supporters constituting support groups from the nook and cranny of the Southern Region, it was according to eye witness accounts, a spectacle to behold.
Aside his unending growing personality and huge following, Alhaji Kanja Sesay is the current Regional Chairman, South, of the Sierra Leone Peoplesโ Party and also doubles as the National President, Mandingo Union-Sierra Leone and also the Minister of Energy.
Months ago, he was in Turkey on a routine medical checkup and returned home hale and hearty.
Chairman for the event who also doubles as the SLPP Bo District Chairman and Resident Minister South, Mohamed K. Allie showered profuse thanks and appreciation on the organizers of the ceremony for such a grand event and also thanked God for bringing their brother alive in the wake of his surgery in Turkey.
Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Abass Bundu while making a statement described Alhaji Kanja Sesay as a Man of the people and a kingpin who has through thick and thin dedicated his life to the ideals of โPaoparismโ and an over blazing staunch supporter of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
Former aspirant for the SLPP Chairmanship position, Jimmy Batilo Songa, Former SLPP Womenโs Leader, Madam Fatmata Sawaneh, Resident Minister, North, Abu Abu Abubakar Koroma were among others appreciated all and sundry for the massive turn out in the wake of a rainy season and urged them to always support President Bio and the SLPP describing their political party as the only way out of the countryโs political quagmire.
In his keynote address, Alhaji Kanja Sesay thanked the organizers (Friends of Alhaji Kanja Sesay) and all supporters from different walks of life for gracing his heroic welcome and also for being loyal and their show of uncompromising penchant for President Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone Peoplesโ Party.
He admonished all supporters who would or have attained the voting age to register in their numbers in order to solidly vote for President Bio, whom he described as his hero and an effigy of national cohesion and development.
“I urge the thousands of supporters out here today to register and remain focused in an effort to ensure the re-election of His Excellency President Dr.Julius Maada Bio come 2023 national electionsโโ Alhaji Kanja Sesay said.
